According to Kia India, sales of the Sonet SUV have crossed 4 lakh units. This significant milestone has been reached by the model in just 4 years from launch. It’s critical to emphasise that this number is derived from both domestic and foreign markets. 33.3% of overall sales are made up of the Sonet, which sells 85,814 units outside and 3.18 lakh units domestically. In January 2024, the South Korean carmaker unveiled the updated Sonet model. The car costs between Rs. 7.99 lakh and Rs. 15.75 lakh ex-showroom. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, responded to Sonet’s performance by saying, “The compact SUV segment presents a big opportunity, with many first-time buyers entering the segment directly.” Our second-best invention, Sonet, has flawlessly tapped into their creativity. It provides them with a low-cost, well-designed, futuristic, tech-enabled, and pleasant mobility option.

In the very competitive compact SUV class—which also includes the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, and Mahindra XUV300—the Kia Sonet recorded a 14% market share in Q1 CY2024.

Kia has introduced four new entry-level and mid-range Sonet models, the HTE(O) and HTK (O) versions with diesel and petrol engine options. While the HTE(O) just receives a sunroof, the HTK(O) has fully automated temperature control (FATC), LED-connected taillamps, and a rear defogger.
